A recent incident in France involved a crypto worker whose children were held hostage during a so called wrench attack. During the course of this latest event, criminals succeeded in taking 46,000 dollars from the victim.
This type of criminal activity is particularly common in France, which currently ranks as the worst hit country globally for these specific attacks. Records show that over 70 such incidents were documented nationwide within the first eight months of 2026 alone.
