A group of hackers has issued a significant financial demand to Revolut, requesting a payment of 3 million dollars. This ransom specifically requires the funds to be transferred in Monero, a particular type of cryptocurrency. The hacking group has imposed a strict deadline for Revolut to comply, giving the company only 24 hours to fulfill their request.
The group further issued a serious threat regarding the handling of customer information. If Revolut fails to meet the 24 hour payment deadline, the hackers stated they will proceed to sell sensitive customer data. This targeted attack specifically aims at Revolut customers who are known to possess significant amounts of cryptocurrency assets, raising immediate concerns for user data security.
