Jensen Huang, the co founder and chief executive of the 5 trillion dollar AI chipmaker Nvidia, has stated that artificial intelligence will not develop to a level that causes human extinction within a few years. He rejected these assertions, describing them as overblown "doomsday narratives" and specifically addressed claims made on social media by a former Anthropic researcher.
Huang labeled the claims, made by Jacob Coxon, that AI could become "superhuman" and eliminate humanity within the current decade as "irresponsible." He referred to warnings from Coxon and others as "doomsday narratives," indicating his strong disagreement with predictions of AI led catastrophe.
