Siddharth Jawahar, 38 years old, received an 11 year prison sentence for operating a Ponzi scheme that took in more than $35 million from investors. During the court proceedings Tuesday, a Missouri prosecutor publicly identified Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce as one of the scheme's victims. This sentencing occurred in US district court in St Louis.
Jawahar had previously pleaded guilty in January to three counts of wire fraud. This conviction and sentencing were announced by the US attorney’s office of the eastern district of Missouri. The scheme targeted unsuspecting individuals, and the prosecutor's mention of a prominent figure like Kelce highlighted the significant reach and impact of the fraud.
