StarkWare recently conducted research where contest participants employed artificial intelligence tools. During a week of AI coding, these participants made the computation for a quantum safe bitcoin transaction significantly faster. This effort reduced the estimated cost for such a transaction from $320 down to $66. The research indicates that the AI powered computations were approximately five times quicker than previous methods.
While this represents a substantial decrease in the projected cost for quantum resistant bitcoin transactions, it is important to note a key detail. The $66 estimate has not yet been definitively demonstrated through another actual transaction mined on the Bitcoin network. This means the impressive efficiency gains achieved using AI tools are currently an estimated figure and await real world validation.
