Warwick Levy, owner of the Sydney based T shirt business Lonely Kids Club, has reportedly discovered thousands of his designs duplicated and available for sale on the Chinese e commerce platform Temu. Levy, 37, who has operated his small business for 15 years, described the discovery of his identical T shirt designs as "brutal". He found an overwhelming amount of products that were direct copies of his own label’s work.
Levy suspects that artificial intelligence may have been employed to scrape his entire website, effectively replicating his unique designs for listing on the marketplace. He reportedly found these numerous rip offs in a period spanning between 2025 and earlier this year. The significant replication raises concerns for small business owners regarding digital intellectual property protection.
