This planned enhancement will dramatically decrease the current block time, moving from 75 seconds to a much faster 25 seconds. This reduction means transactions will be processed more quickly, boosting the overall efficiency and responsiveness of the Zcash network for its participants.
Alongside this performance boost, the same upgrade will also institute a fundamental redefinition of how the Zcash network funds its intrinsic security protocols. This significant change involves rewriting the mechanism for compensating network participants who contribute to its protection. This new financial framework for network security is specifically slated to become active following the year 2031.
