Ookla, the company behind SpeedTest.net, has released new comprehensive benchmarks for Android foldable devices. This report aims to assist users in selecting a foldable smartphone, particularly as Apple's first foldable, the iPhone Duo, is set to launch in approximately one month. While iPhone Duo benchmarks are not yet available, Android users may want to understand how existing foldable models compare.
The study focused on six popular Android foldable devices available in the U.S. market, including the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6, Fold7, Fold8, Fold8 Ultra, Flip6, and Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Ookla tested these smartphones across various performance metrics, using their corresponding "slab" models with identical chipsets, such as the Galaxy S26 Ultra, as controls for comparison. The findings indicate that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra emerged as the top performer, excelling in download speed, upload speed, and the reduction of packet loss.
