Valve, the parent company of the popular Steam gaming platform, announced its Steam Frame VR headset in November 2025. Now, as of September 18, the device is available, with early reviews highlighting its well designed nature. PC Gamer's Jacob Ridley praised the Steam Frame for its comfort, straight forward operation, and convenience, noting it makes playing VR games very easy.
The headset offers more than just virtual reality, allowing users to play non VR games from their Steam library on a large virtual screen. IGN's Jacqueline Thomas reported spending almost equal time playing traditional non VR games, describing the Steam Frame as a portable replacement for her gaming monitor.
