This expansion goes beyond creating personalized stations and finding mood based music, enabling users to discover new music based on what they are currently listening to. Users can now inquire about songs and albums that inspired a particular track, identify musicians who played on a song, and find other music by those artists. The feature also helps listeners identify songs that sampled specific tracks.
Furthermore, YouTube Music users can now find podcasts and podcast episodes featuring artists, or obtain more details about a track. The company also introduced Your Podcast Lineup, which allows users to create an AI generated podcast about other podcasts recommended by YouTube Music, tailored to their interests. YouTube emphasized that YouTube Music is a key product focus, not just a minor project.
